At the 10am briefing, the forecast for day two of the TF35 Les Voiles de Choisi promised a repeat of day one: no wind in the morning but a nice thermal breeze in the afternoon.
But as the hours passed and the sailors enjoyed breakfast at the Villa Choisi and then a game of Spikeball over lunch, the wind remained illusive and the lake mirror flat. Perfect for swimming but less so for sailing.
Despite the race committee being on the water all afternoon to monitor the situation, unfortunately, the maximum wind speed they found was only four knots and at 15:00, with not a breath of breeze on the horizon, Class Manager Bertrand Favre officially announced the end of the day, and the teams relaxed into the evening raclette on the shore of the lake.
Racing will resume tomorrow at the later time of 13:00 for the final day of the TF35 Les Voiles de Choisi.
