Final Showdown of the TF35 Season on Lake Geneva

09/10/2025

Tomorrow, the fleet of high-performance foiling TF35 catamarans will take to the waters of Lake Geneva, departing from the Société Nautique de Genève (SNG), for the final event of the 2025 season.

After an exceptional year, Yann Guichard’s Sails of Change 8 has already secured the overall season title with one event to spare, following victories in four of the five regattas sailed so far. With the top spot decided, the spotlight now turns to the fierce battle among the remaining teams, who have been separated by only a few points throughout the season.

Currently sitting in second place, Julian Ferminish’s Ylliam 17 started the season strongly in the spring but has struggled with consistency since the summer break. Just one point behind, Zen Too holds third place, buoyed by a second-place finish at the TF35 Crans Grand Prix ten days ago. For owner Guy de Picciotto, this marks his final season competing on board and his last year serving as class president - giving the team extra motivation to close the season on a high.

In fourth place, Duncan Späth’s Sails of Change 10 has shown growing consistency and confidence throughout the season and now needs just a single point to break onto the overall podium.

Newcomer, Marco Favale's X-Wing has also made their mark this year, celebrated their first race win and maiden regatta podium at the TF35 Morges Grand Prix in September, while Bertrand Demole’s Ylliam XII - Comptoir Immobilier impressed early on with a second-place finish at the season opener in Nyon.

With the points table so tight behind the leaders, teams will be pushing their performance in this final showdown. Adding an extra twist, the Realteam Sailing returns to the fleet for this event. While their results won’t affect the overall championship standings, their presence on the start line is sure to raise the competitive bar and add pressure across the fleet.

The stage is set for the conclusion of the TF35 2025 season on Lake Geneva, follow live updates here.
