The fifth stop of the TF35 2023 season is about to get underway in Nyon from 22 to 25 June hosted by the the Société Nautique de Nyon.
Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Swiss town, with its castle overlooking the lake and mountains in the distance, six TF35 teams will compete over four days for the TF35 Nyon Cup .
The action will begin tomorrow with practice racing starting at 13:30 CET, followed by two official point-scoring races from 15:00 CET. Over Friday to Sunday, the aim is to have five action-packed races per day. Early weekend forecasts indicate a mix of conditions that will keep the tacticians on their toes. Storms are expected tomorrow, with good wind, sunshine and summer heat throughout the weekend.
Leading the overall Tour ranking at this midway stage of the season is Esteban Garcia's Realteam Sailing, with Jérôme Clerc at the helm, holding a five-point lead on the fleet. However, the competition on the water is much closer, with Bertrand Demole's Ylliam XII - Comptoir Immobilier emerging this season and currently in second place, closely followed by old rivals Spindrift, helmed by Yann Guichard, who are just one point behind in third place.
In the third season of TF35 racing, the competition is intensifying, with only one point separating fourth from sixth place. The new team Ylliam 17 is currently on 14 points, tied with Alinghi Red Bull Racing, while ZEN Too sits at 15 points.
