The TF35 Opening Grand Prix sets sail tomorrow off Société Nautique de Nyon, Switzerland, marking the start of the first-ever TF35 Trophy.
Today in Nyon, teams had the chance to line up against one another for the first time in 2021 with two practice races. A light 6-8knot breeze from the southwest was just enough to see the seven TF35s foiling upwind.
Official racing will kick off tomorrow at 14:00 CET with a maximum of five races per day until 16:00 CET on Sunday if conditions allow. The forecast for the weekend is looking light, and unpredictable with showers, so smooth boat handling and a gentle touch will be critical to success.
The TF35 Trophy is proud to celebrate the return to sailing. As we deliver the opening event of the season this weekend, we pledge that the health and safety of everyone involved will be our top priority. With a strict COVID protocol in place, tomorrow will begin with the first round of covid tests that will continue over the weekend.
