Tomorrow, the TF35 high-performance one-design foiling catamaranswill go head-to-head for the final event of the 2023 season. 

Hosted once again by the excellent team at Fraglia Vela Malcesine and racing against the stunning backdrop of the Mount Baldo mountain range on Lake Garda, the six teams will pick up where they left off just two weeks ago for the seventh and final event of the season. 

The fleet will have the chance to size each other up tomorrow (Thursday, 14 September) with two practice races from 13:00 CET before two official races from 14:30 CET and then five daily races from Friday 15th to Sunday 16th. 

With Realteam Sailing's flawless performance this year securing them the overall 2023 TF35 Trophy with an event to spare, all eyes will be on Spindrift and Ylliam XII - Comptoir Immobilier, who go into the final event of the season tied on points and competing for second place. However, pushing hard behind them are ZEN Too and Alinghi Red Bull Racing, also tied on points, and Ylliam 17 a further point behind and looking to bridge the 9-point gap onto the podium.

Statistics and probability should in theory favour Spindrift, who are normally clinical, consistent finishers. They won the Malcesine event in 2022 and have steadily been building their consistency and speed on the water over the last three seasons to now visibly match Realteam in every race. But this year's underdogs Ylliam XII - Comptoir Immobilier have come through strong, taking two seconds and three thirds at regattas this season to Spindrifts two seconds, two thirds and a fourth, which put the favoured team on the back foot with only one discard allowed for the year.
