Two stage race weekend for the TF35

06/06/2024

The second and third rounds of the 2024 TF35 Trophy will take place this weekend on Lake Geneva. Two days of windward-leeward racing will be held on either side of Saturday's Genève-Rolle-Genève long-distance race.

On Friday 7th and Sunday 9th June the fleet will be racing in the typical windward leeward format for the TF35 Mies Cup hosted at the Mies boatyard, with the support of the Club Nautique de Versoix.

The forecast is looking typically changeable for lake racing in early summer and despite some indication of stormy weather the overall outlook looks good for racing.

On Saturday 8th June the TF35 fleet will join 200 other boats at 13:30 off Yacht Club Genève for the mass start of the long distance Genève-Rolle-Genève.

"I'm really looking forward to the Geneva-Rolle-Geneva and the Bol d'Or Mirabaud," enthuses Bertrand Demole helm of  Ylliam XII - Comptoir Immobilier and winner of the Geneva-Rolle-Geneva in 2023..

"Afterwards, there's that famous saying that if you win the Genève-Rolle, you won't win the Bol d'Or the same year... But we're going to try to win both and thus beat the odds!" he concludes .

In contrast to recent years, the fleet is hopeing that the forecast wind will hold, enabling the TF35s to complete the Geneva-Rolle-Geneva course in just over two hours.
